While searching for eco-friendly, DIY wedding favors for her wedding, Melissa, owner of The Lucky Honeybee, learned to make candles in her small New Jersey kitchen. Melissa loved burning scented candles, but often experienced headaches from some of the major brands on the market. Having always been conscious of environmental issues, she researched and tested various waxes, fragrance oils and a wildly eclectic collection of glassware until finding the perfect blend of ingredients.
Lucky Honeybee products are hand poured using a special blend of soy and beeswax. Our vessels range from beautiful vintage glassware, repurposed preserve jars to new containers that are recyclable. Our goal is to give a second life to objects that may have been otherwise discarded after it's intended purpose. Although some of our candle containers are new products, we strongly encourage to upcylce, reuse & repurpose when ever possible. The Lucky Honeybee, US produced soy bean wax, a renewable & biodegradable resource along with beeswax harvested from Upstate New York. Our candles are subtly scented to infuse the room with a light scent as to not cause headaches as many of the mass produced candles on the market often do and whenever possible, we use Fragrance Oils that are phlalate free.
